You Can Help Provide Three Thousand People with Access to Safe Water in 2008

The Forty Meter Breach
Filling this hole will make Boji Village drought proof
In 1999 the village of Boji in southern Ethiopia found an answer to their prayers. A charitable organization offered to help them build an earthen dam that would create a year-around supply of water.

But funds for the project ran short and in April of 2006 the dam was put into use before it was finished. As a result, flood waters washed over the dam and blew out a 40 meter section, rendering it useless. The Boji dam sits idle to this day.

In 2008, Global Poverty Action is working to fulfill the promise of the Boji dam. Click here to learn how you can partner with GPA and Boji village to eliminate hunger, preventable disease, and poverty once and for all.
